Musky Rod Wrapping steps with RodWrap
1. Open the package at the bottom and slide the black FinishingTape off of the RodWrap. Open the black FinishingTape by removing the clear piece of scotch tape that is holding it together in a band but leave the white backing on until ready to apply
2. Next unfold the RodWrap and find the end that has a sticker that says remove. Peal up this sticker and a thin layer of clear plastic should come up with it. Remove all of the plastic before starting to wrap.
3. Now with the RodWrap logo out, start wrapping by holding one of the tapered ends against the bottom of the rod handle. Hold it in place with one finger and turn the rod handle until you can stretch and overlap the tapered end you are holding. When you have secured your first wrap start angling your wraps and wind your way up the handle laying down 1/8th inch overlaps.
4. With spinning rods wrap with the reel on the rod, with casting rods leave the reel off until you have wrapped up to and over the back half of the reel seat. Stop wrapping at the bottom of the threads on the seat and hold the rod and wrap with one hand and place the reel on the rod as you normally would. Now as you cinch the musky reel in place the reel will stretch the RodWrap into the back of the seat.
5. Secure your musky reel in place with cinch, make sure cinch is as tight as it can go.
6. Now wrap forward to the end of the foregrip, either trim excess wrap at the end of the handle or wrap extra behind front piece of cork.
7. Secure last wrap around front piece of cork and apply FinishingTape to secure the RodWrap in place. Remove white backing from tape as you go and DO NOT STRETCH FinishingTape when applying it.
We recommend rod wrapping the entire handle for many reasons and all of them are good.
FOR ROD WRAPPING WITH RODWRAP DO NOT STRETCH THE FINISHING TAPE WHEN APPLYING.
